Abstract: Cyber crimes
stipulated in Law No. 11/2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions. In
2001 the European countries issued a Council of Europe Cyber Convention. The
Convention is intended to combat cyber crime. The development of information
technology emerging cyber crime. Issues raised in this research are: 1) How
does setting online crime based Council of Europe Cyber Convention of 2001 and
Act No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions?; 2) How does the
synchronization Council of Europe Cyber Convention in 2001 by Act No. 11 of
2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions. This study is a normative
legal research, particularly research legal synchronization. This study
examines the primary legal materials. Legal materials collected by the study
documents. Legal materials analyzed deductively. The results showed that 1)
Setting contained in the Council of Europe Cyber Convention with UU ITE are
substantially similar. 2) Crimes stipulated in the Act ITE generally already
considered the Council of Europe Cyber Convention.
