PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE THINK PAIR SHARE (TPS) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VIII MTS THAMRIN YAHYA RAMBAH HILIR
ABSTRACT: The purpose of this
study was to see the effect of cooperative learning model Think Pair Share
(TPS) on the ability of students’ mathematical representation. This research
was Quasi-Experiment with design two posttes Group only. This tesearch was done
in class VIII MTs Thamrin Yahya Rambah Hilir. Before selecting a sample class,
first tested for normality and homogeneity of variance. Normality and
homogeneity test results show that the normal data and then proceed with the
homogeneous equality test average. After doing an average similarity test
results show that the data have the same average. Sampling was done by using
simple random sampling, so that elected VIII2 class as an experimental class
and class VIII1 as the control class. In the experimental group, there were 30
students and 29 students in the control class. Data was collected using test.
Data analysis techniques in this study t test, which previously carried out
tests of normality and homogeneity. Based on research, the experimental class
have an average greater than the control class experimental class = 61.70 and
control class = 51.90. calculations by t test obtained tcount =2.281 and ttable
= 2.003 , because tcount >ttable then H0 is rejected. It can be concluded
that cooperative learning model Think Pair Share affect the ability of a
mathematical representationof students of class VIII MTs Thamrin Yahya Rambah
Hilir
