Abstract: Correctional
Facility is place to fostering convicts to make them better so they can
returned and accepted to their society again. Fostering and advisement program
including personality fostering , self-reliance fostering and all activity was
arrange in government ordinance number
31 year 1999 article 2 subsection 1. Based on community’s observation there’s a
positive changes of inmates personality after fostering program at Correctional
facility are implemented. Problems of this study 1) How to implement
personality fostering at Correctional facility class II A Muaro Padang 2) What
difficulty faced when implemented personality fostering at Correctional
facility class II A Muaro Padang. This study used socio legal approach. This
study used primary and secondary data. Data was collected by interview and
documentary study. Data was analysed qualitatively. Research conclusion 1)
personality fostering at Correctional Facility Class II A Muaro Padang be
implemented by a) spiritually and religion Fostering b) law awareness c) social
knowledge d) legal awareness in national and state e) society interactive f)
physically g) self-reliance fostering. 2) officer constrains faced when
implemented personality fostering is a) correctional facility infrastructure b)
correctional facility personnel c) the convicts it self d) Lack of supervision
at Correctional facility class II A Muaro Padang.
