UJI PENDAHULUAN AKTIVITAS KATALITIK KATALIS MANGAN (II) YANG DIAMOBILISASI PADA SILIKA MODIFIKASI DALAM REAKSI TRANSESTERIFIKASI

Abstract: The  manganese  (II)  catalyst  immobilized  on  a  modified  silica  successfully  synthesized  and applied in the transesterification reaction of vegetable oil. Silica modified with aniline and Boron triflorida,  then  catalyst  manganese  (II)  grafted  on  the  silica.  Amobilat  produced  were characterized  by  Fourier  Transform  Infra-Red  (FTIR),  Scanning  Electron  Microscopy-Energy Dispersive  X-ray  (SEM-EDX)  and  Particle  Size  Analyzer  (PSA).  Amobilat  added  into  methanol and refluxed for 15 minutes. Furthermore vegetable oil with a mass ratio of catalyst: the mass of vegetable  oil  that  is  1  :  100  put  in  a  mixture  of  methanol  and  catalyst  then  refluxed  for  2  hours. The resulting products were characterized by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer (GC-MS). From  GC-MS characterization, has  been known  if biodiesel was produced via transesterification reaction with 25 % area methyl hexadecanoic and 63 % area methyl 7-octadecanoic.
