SINTESIS SENYAWA AURIVILLIUS LAPIS EMPAT PbBi4-xNdxTi4O15 DENGAN METODE LELEHAN GARAM

Abstract: Aurivillius  phase  is  a  metal  oxide  compound  with  general  formulae  [Bi2O2]2+[An-1BnO3n+1]2-. Four layers Aurivillius phase, PbBi4-xNdxTi4O15 with x = 0.5 and x = 1 had been synthesized by using molten salt method where salt mixture was Na2SO4/K2SO4  (1:1) as the flux. The samples were  heated  at  750oC  for  10  hours,  850oC  for  5  hours,  and  950oC  for  5  hours.  Polycrystallines were  characterized  by  X-Ray  Diffractometer  (XRD).  All  XRD  data  were  refined  by  RIETICA program  with  Le  Bail  method.  The  results  show  that  all  samples  have  performed  four  layers Aurivillius  phase  however  another  phase  was  also  observed  for  both  samples  predicted  as Bi7.7Ti0.3O12.16. The volume cell of four layers Aurivillius compound increases with increasing the value of x.
