SINTESIS SENYAWA AURIVILLIUS LAPIS EMPAT Sr1-xBi3+xLaTi4-xMnxO15 DENGAN METODE HIDROTERMAL

Abstract: The Aurivillius phases are  a metal oxide type compounds  with general formula [Bi2O2]2+. [An-1BnO3n+1]2-.  They  grow  regularly  between  fluorite-like  [Bi2O2]2+  layers  and  perovskite  [An-1BnO3n+1]2-    layers.  Aurivillius phases  can  perform  as  a  magnetoelectric  compouds  due  to  their structure  can  be  built  by  combination  of  ferroelectric  cation  (d0)  and  magnetic  kation  (dn)  in octahedral of perovskite layer. In this study, it has been synthesized four-layers Aurivillius, Sr1-xBi3+xLaTi4-xMnxO15  (x  =  0;  0,2;  0,4;  1)  by  hydrothermal  method.  The  products  have  been characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD). The XRD data were refined by Le Bail tecnique using Rietica  program.  The  sample  with  x  =  0,  0.2,  and  0.4  formed  four-layers  Aurivillius  phase, however still containing another phase  predicted as perovskite phase. While the sample with x =  1  showed  three-layers  Aurivillius  and  La5Ti5O17  phases.  The  four-layers  of  Sr1-xBi3+xLaTi4-xMnxO15  (x = 0; 0,2; 0,4; 1)  have ortorombic symmetry with A21am space group. The morfology of these sampels analyzed by Scanning Electron Microcopy (SEM) showed the plate and grains as the characteristic of Aurivillius phase.
