PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH AMPAS TEBU SEBAGAI INHIBITOR KOROSI BAJA St. 37 DALAM MEDIUM ASAM KLORIDA

Abstract: Refer to the main problems in oil and gas industry that is corrosion, the experiment to inhibit a corrosion  process  was  done.  Bagasse  which  known  has  a  high  enough  number  of  lignin  and potency  to  inhibit  corrosion  process  was  used  in  this  experiment.  Lignin  extraction  from bagasse  and  weight  loss  method  to  obtain  the  efficiency  inhibition  was  done.  Besides, immersion  of  steel  St.  37  in  1  M  hydrochloric  acid  solution  with  variation  temperature  (30,  40, 50,  60oC)  was  done  to  obtain  the  activation  energies.  Measurement  with  potentiodynamic polarization  was done to  observe the corrosion rates based on the polarization curve. Analysis of photooptic was done also to see the steel surface with and without inhibitor. According to the experiment,  the  efficiency  inhibitor  was  observed  to  increase  with  increase  in  concentration  of extract  but  decrease  with  temperature.  The  optimum  temperature  was  50oC  for  optimum efficiency. Efficiency ranged between 85,92% - 91,61% and 51,83% - 92,20% for potentiodynamic polarization with optimum of extract concentration is 0,9%.. Activation energy was 62,7 kJ/mol. The  result  of  photooptic  analysis  showed  the  difference  of  steel  surface  with  and  without inhibitor.
