PEMANFAATAN EKSTRAK ETANOL KULIT JENGKOL (Pithecellobium jiringa) SEBAGAI INHIBITOR KOROSI BAJA St.37 DALAM MEDIUM ASAM KLORIDA
Abstract: Corrosion inhibition
of steel St.37
in hydrochloric acid
solution using ethanol
extract of Pithecellobium jiringa
fruit rind was
studied by weight
loss, polarization potentiodynamic and photo
optical methods in
presence of ethanol
extract of Pithecellobium jiringa
fruit rind. From weight
loss data it
was observed that
the corrosion rate
decreases with the
increases in the concentration of
the ethanol extract
of Pithecellobium jiringa
fruit rind. Efficiency
inhibition increases with the
increases in the
concentration of the
ethanol extract of
Pithecellobium jiringa fruit rind
in HCl solution. Maximum inhibition efficiency was found (88,23%) in 1,0 N HCl
acid with 0,2% ethanol
extract of Pithecellobium jiringa
fruit rind. Polarization
potentiodynamic was observed that
type of inhibitor
is anodic. Photooptic
show that surface
morphology immersed in solution
without and presence
of ethanol extract
Pithecellobium jiringa fruit
rind with concentration 0,01% is
different.
