OPTIMASI PENENTUAN Ni(II) DAN Fe(II) SECARA SIMULTAN DENGAN VOLTAMMETRI STRIPING ADSORPTIF (AdSV)

Abstract: A  selective  and  sensitive  adsorption  stripping  voltammetry  (AdSV)  procedure  for  the simultaneous determination of nickel and iron was conducted. The aim of this research is to get optimum  condition  for  simultaneous  determination  of  nickel  and  iron.  Adsorptive  stripping voltammetry has been used for determination of trace amount Ni(II) and Fe(II) by using calcon as a  complexing  agent.  The  parameters  studied  were  variation  of  calcon  concentration,  pH, accumulation  potential  and  accumulation  time.  In  this  study,  the  optimum  conditions  were calcon concentration of 0.6 mM, pH = 7.0, accumulation potential of -0.2 V and accumulation time of 110 sec. at the optimum conditions, the relative standard devation were 10.45% for Ni(II) and 1.06%  for  Fe(II)  respectively  for  8  replicates  (n=8)  measurements  of  50  µg/L  for  Ni(II)  and  10 µg/L  for  Fe(II).  The  method  was  applied  to  the  direct  simultaneous  determination  of  Ni(II)  and Fe(II)  in  crane  water,  river    water  of  Batu  Busuk  and  sea  water  around  Bungus,  Padang  City. Concentration  of Ni(II) and Fe(II) in samples crane water were equal to 2.04 µg/L for Ni(II) and 198.84  µg/L  for  Fe(II),  in  the  river  water  a Batu  Busuk  are  1.72  µg/L  for  Ni(II)  and  264.71  µg/L for Fe(II)) and from the sea water of Bungus Padang are 19.35 µg/L for Ni(II) and 441.31 µg/L for Fe(II) with recovery of 78.84% for Ni(II) and 100.24% for Fe(II), respectively.
