ISOLASI DAN KARAKTERISASI SENYAWA KUMARIN DARI EKSTRAK ETIL ASETAT DAUN TANAMAN MURBEI (Morus alba L)

Abstract: Secondary metabolites of coumarin compound has been isolated from Mulberry’s leaves (Morus alba L). The powder of leaves was extracted by maceration method using hexane, ethyl acetate, and  methanol  as  solvent.  The  isolated  compound  has  the  shape  of  yellowish-white  powder, melts at 125-1260C and based on test on TLC given single spot that blue fluorescent under UV light  at  λ  365  nm.  Based  on  the  UV  and  IR  spectrum  of  this  compound,  it  showed  absorption chromophore of lactone ring and has a functional group     O-H at 3431.87 cm-1, C-H stretching at 2924.48 cm-1, C=O stretching at 1718.93 cm-1, C=C stretching 1624.30 cm-1 and C-O stretching at 1263.84 cm-1. The toxicity test with the method of brine shrimps test showed that the fraction of  hexane,  ethyl  acetate  and  methanol  has  toxicity  activity.  Ethyl  acetate  extract  has  a  high toxicity with LC50 134.152 mg/L.
