BIOSINTESIS NANOPARTIKEL PERAK DENGAN MEMANFAATKAN GAMBIR SEBAGAI BIOREDUKTOR

Abstract: Biosynthesis  of  silver  nanoparticle  using  chemical  reduction  method  from  extract  gambir  leaves (Uncaria  Gambir  Roxb)  has  been  done  successfully.  In  this  process,  there  were  two  methods  used: precipitation  and  hydrothermal  with  two  various  stabilizer,  polyvinyl  alcohol  (PVA)  and  diethanol amine  (DEA).  UV-Vis  analysis  showed  that    DEA  as  stabilizer  was  more  effective  producing  silver nanoparticle  in  smaller  particle  size  than  using  PVA  and  without  stabilizer  based  on  the  stability  of colloid.  XRD  analysis  using  hydrothermal  method  demonstrated  peaks  of  silver  which  was  suitable with the standard peaks of silver. Silver’s crystallinity by using DEA was better than without stabilizer.  In  addition,  synthesis  using  hydrothermal  method  produced  smaller  crystals  than precipitation method. Analysis TEM showed that Ag particle size using DEA (25 nm) with anisotropic shape was smaller than without using stabilizer (70 nm) with spherical shape.
