STUDI KUALITAS AIR PADA INSTALASI PENGOLAHAN AIR LIMBAH AREAL PENIMBUNAN BATUBARA (STOCKPILE) PT. BUKIT BAIDURI ENERGI KABUPATEN KUTAI KARTANEGARA
ABSTRACT: The aim
of this study
was to analyze
the parameters of
TSS, pH, Fe
and Mn. The results was compared with the water quality standard
regulated in Perda Kaltim No. 02 Tahun 2011, and then determine the
water quality status
of the Mahakam
River as the
recipient of waste
water from settling pond
which is managed
by PT. Bukit
Baiduri Energi located
in Kutai Kartanegara Regency. Purposive sampling
method was applied, means that the samples were selected based on certain
considerations. Water sampling stations were divided into 3 stations then
sampling of each station was conducted 2 times. Water quality data was further
analyzed using STORET method to determine water quality status based on the
standard for water quality management practice. The measurements of
water quality parameters
(TSS, Fe and
Mn) shows that
in the location
of the settling pond was still
below the limit for the quality standard and for pH parameters was also still meet water
quality standards for
mining coal waste.
While the water
quality analysis on the
Mahakam River for
the upstream and
downstream as compared
with the classes
of water quality standard imposed
in Perda Kaltim
No. 02 tahun
2011 indicated the
water was only
ready to be used
for the activities
related to fish
culturing/aquaculture (third class)
and crop/plant irrigation (fourth class). The result leads
to the conclusion that treatment is needed to the water that will be used for
the purpose of basic human needs for the people along the Mahakam River
