EFIKASI VAKSIN MONOVALEN Aeromonas hydrophila PADA BUDIDAYA IKAN NILA (Oreochromis niloticus)
ABSTRACT: This study
aims to determine
the efficacy of
monovalent vaccine of
A. hydrophila to
prevent infection A. hydrophila and Pseudomonas sp. in tilapia. The
vaccine made from whole cells of A. hydrophila
bacteria and inactivated
with formalin 3%.
Vaccination trial was
done through intraperitonial injection
into fish having
mean weight of
15-20 g. Control
negative tilapia were injected with NaCl fisiologis. Fish were vaccinated with whole cell and
challenged by IP injection with
1010 colony-forming units
(CFU)/fish of A.
hydrophila and Pseudomonas
sp. Tilapia vaccinated with
monovalent A. hydrophila
had a Relative
Percent Survival (RPS)
of 74% (IP challenged with
A. hydrophila) and 100%
(IP challenged with
Pseudomonas sp.). This
indicates that A. hydrophila
monovalent vaccine could
prevent bacterial infections
A. hydrophila and Pseudmonas sp.
