ADAT PERKAWINAN KELUARGA KETURUNAN “WONG KALANG” (KAJIAN ETNOGRAFI KOMUNIKASI TENTANG BUDAYA MEMILIH PASANGAN HIDUP PADA KELUARGA KETURUNAN WONG KALANG DI KECAMATAN BULUS PESANTREN KABUPATEN KEBUMEN)
Abstract:The background of
this research is the existence of Wong Kalang among Kebumen regency which is
endogamy, that is the form of its marriage still using certain regulations
which not done by other groups of society with ethnographic communication
approach. The aim of this research is to understand communication activity that
is used among family members of Kalang when choosing their couple and to
understand the transmission process of communication culture values inside
Kalang society's culture. The result of this research is the custom of choosing couple by family in
Kalang family still exists until now with some positive reasons for the sake
ofKalang couple's family sustainability. A marriage of fellow Kalang is one of
rules that done by not arranging the marriage directly, but trying to introduce
the child of a family to another Kalang family in order to wed them. But
nowadays there are Kalang society who not marry with fellow Kalang unlike their
ancestors. Now the custom still exists but not as tight as in the past.
Nowadays many members. Thus, marriage custom of Wong Kalang that already existed
since its ancestors era has experienced a lot of frictions and changes.
