PEMANFAATAN EKSTRAK DAUN JAMBU BIJI (Psidium guajava L) SEBAGAI INHIBITOR KOROSI BAJA St.37 DALAM MEDIUM ASAM KLORIDA
Abstract: Extract of guava
leaves (Psidium guajavaL) as corrosion inhibitor for steel St. 37 in
hydrochloric acid medium had been studied using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization method and
analysis photo optic. Weight loss results showed that the corrosion rate decreases
with the addition of guava leaf extract (Psidium guajava L). Inhibition
efficiency increased further with increasing extract concentration and decrease
swith increasing temperature. Value of inhibition efficiency highest is 88.76%
at a concentration of HCl 1.0N with extract concentration of 5%.
Potentiodynamic polarization showed that guava leaf extract can act as an
inhibitor. Analysis photo optic showed that the morphological differences steels immersed in solution
without inhibitor and with guava leaf extract.
