OPTIMASI PENENTUAN Fe(III) DAN Co(II) SECARA SIMULTAN DENGAN VOLTAMMETRI STRIPPING ADSORPTIF (AdSV)
ABSTRACT: A selective and
sensitive adsorptive stripping voltammetric (AdSV) procedure for the
simultaneous determination of iron and cobalt was conducted. The aim of this
research is to get optimum condition for simultaneous determination of iron and
cobalt. Adsorptive stripping voltammetry has been used for determination of
trace amount of Fe(III), and Co(II) by using calcon as a complexing agent. The
parameters studied were variation of calcon concentration, pH, accumulation
potential and accumulation time. In this study, the optimum conditions were
calcon concentration of 0.5 mM, pH = 5.0, accumulation potential of -0.6 V and
accumulation time of 60 sec. At the optimum conditions, the relative standard
deviation were 0,84% for Fe(III) and 0,86% for Co(II) respectively for 10
replicates (n = 10) measurements of 10 μg/L mixed standard solution of Fe(III)
and Co(II). The method was applied to the direct simultaneous determination of
Fe(III) and Co(II) in crane water, river water of Batu Busuk and sea water
around Bungus, Padang City. Concentration of Fe(III) and Co(II) in samples
crane water were equal to 585 µg/L for Fe(III) and 225 µg/L for Co(II), in the
river water a Batu Busuk are 465 µg/L for Fe(III) and 594 µg/L for Co(II) and
from the sea water of Bungus Padang are 325 µg/L for Fe(III) and 634 µg/L for
Co(II) with recovery of 118% for Fe(III) and 82% for Co(II), respectively.
