Abstract: This research
was aimed to
explore the correlation
between future orientation and
procrastination on student
to writing of
thesis in social science and
political faculty at Mulawarman University
in Samarinda.This study consisted
of two variable,
dependent variable namely
Procrastination and independent variable namely Future Orientation. Data
was collected by using future
orientation scale and procrastination scale. The samples of this research consisted
of 111 student
of social science
and political faculty
at Mulawarman University in
Samarinda through accidental
sampling method. The data
analysis technique used
product moment correlation
analysis. There is low
and negative relation
between future orientation
and procrastination with r =
-0.318 and p = 0.001.
