Hubungan Pengetahuan, Sikap, dan Perilaku Tutor PBL dengan Kemampuan Membimbing Mahasiswa untuk Mencapai Tujuan Pembelajaran
Abstract: Problem Based
Learning (PBL) is one of several methods applied in current medical
education. PBL tutors are
expected to have
the competency of
a good facilitator
so that they
can guide the
students to achieve their
learning objective. This
study aims to
identify the correlation
between the knowledge, attitude and behavior of PBL
tutors and their
competency in guiding students to achieve their learning objective. This
cross-sectional study was
conducted in the Medical
Faculty of Maranatha
Christian University in July – November 2007. Respondents were all the
tutors who had joined a tutor training. Thequestionnaires used in this study
were set
by modifying “the characteristics of a good tutor” developed by Queen University.
The data were
collected in July
– August 2007
and analyzed by
using STATA 6.0 program.
Of the 87
tutors who had
completed the training,
11 tutors were
excluded from this
study because they had never been
assigned as a PBL tutor. Multivariate analysis with linier regression was conducted on 76 samples. The final model
revealed that the tutors’ ability in giving feedback could increase their competency
in guiding students
to achieve their
learning objective (CR=0.46;
95%CI=0.26-0.66). Another factor that could increase the tutors’
competency was their ability to clarify the learning objective (CR=0.3; 95%CI=0.18-0.58).
The tutors’ ability in giving feedback
and clarifying the learning objectivehad
been the factors
that could increase
their competency in
guiding students to
achieve their learning objective.
