PENGARUH KONTROL PENUANGAN TERHADAP PEMBUATAN SILINDER PEJAL ALUMINIUM PADUAN HASIL PROSES DIRECT CHILL CASTING

ABSTRACT: Raw material of Semi-Finished product which in form of solid cylinder used many in construction workhouses, especially molding construction workshop specially unit making of model (corn pattern). Elementary material of solid cylinder which is often exploited for pattern is aluminum of mixed, with formed easy and light consideration. One of so much process of manufacture able to produce raw material of semi-finished product is Direct Chill Casting (DCC). In this research is focused to lessen crudity of surface of product of DCC by control infusion of metal dilution into printing; mould. Tunis used as media to control infusion of metal dilution into printing; mould. Tunis controls the exit of metal dilution arranged open stopper bar cover at hole of tunic. Time of opening close bar of cork to control infusion of metal dilution in this research is 9 second and 13 second. Each; Every variation of specimen control infusion taken 3 and each specimen tested by value crudity of divided into surface 3 area that is underside, middle and of specimen. Result of test crudity of surface 3 the area is meant. Result of research indicate that infusion control have an effect on to crudity of surface of product of DCC. Control infusion with hole plug time of opening of tunic 9 second, assess crudity of surface of product of DCC smaller 18.7% (5.53 µm) compared to value crudity of product of DCC (6.8 µm) with hole plug time of opening of tunic 13 second.
