WAKTU PENGERINGAN FINIR FACE/BACK DAN LONGCORE PADA TIGA JENIS KAYU DENGAN DUA TINGKAT KETEBALAN DI PT HENDRATNA PLYWOOD BANJARMASIN KALIMANTAN SELATAN

Abstract: The objective of this research is to find out drying time of face/back veneer or long core veneer of two different thicknesses ( A factor : 1.6 mm and 2.0 mm) of three wood species (B factor). The result  can be recommended to the producer in order to increase quality of plywood produced. Materials needed   for this research are veneers of Benuang (Octomeles sumatrana), Keruing (Dipterocarpus bornensis) and Red Meranti (Shorea acuminata). Factorial Completely Randomized Design are applied on data analysis of this research. Longest average drying time of 1.6 mm thickness veneer is   Keruing long core veneer (A1B2), 705 seconds (rolling speed is 544 – 693 rpm), and the shortest  is Red Meranti veneer (A1B3), 422 seconds (rolling speed is 710 – 859 rpm). For 2.0 mm long core veneer, the longest drying time is Benuang veneer (A2B1), 750 seconds (rolling speed is 250 – 450 rpm) and the sortest is Red Meranti veneer (A2B3), 436 seconds (rolling speed 475 – 675 rpm).
