SISTEM PEMELIHARAAN SAPI BALI (BOS SONDAICUS) BANTUAN PEMERINTAH DI DISTRIK PRAFI KABUPATEN MANOKWARI
ABSTRACT: The increasing of
beef cattle production is one of several efforts that is important in
fulfilling the requirements of animal protein particularly meat production.The
implementation of breeding management system has a strong relationship with
technology accomplishment. An aid system of “gaduhan” is considered as relevant
approach for the technology achievement through local people empowerment in
animal husbandry sub-sector. Research was conducted in Prafi District by using
descriptive methods with case study. Case that was acknowledged in this study
is the farmer group who involved in the aid program. Primary and secondary data
were collected and analyzed by descriptive statistic approach. The results
indicated that farmer respondents have given good attention to the feeding
management, however not in the production aspect. Generally, farmer respondents
were not serious providing housing and had poor knowledge in veterinary
practice, always dependent on livestock field staff. All respondents have
utilized the meat in order to supply animal protein requirements of the
households.
