POLIMORFISME LEU/VAL GEN GROWTH HORMONE DAN EFEKNYA PADA UKURAN TUBUH PEDET SIMPO

Polymorphism of growth hormone gene in 62 SIMPO calves (½ Simmental + ½ Ongole
Grade) was detected by digested DNA fragment of 211 bp extended from the forth
intron region (49 bp) to fifth of exon (162 bp) by AluI enzyme. The result indicated
that two genotypes Leu/Leu and Leu/Val were found at the GH gene in SIMPO
population. The frequencies of Leu and Val alleles were 0.82 and 0.18,
respectively. In SIMPO calves, the average of body measurements at birth, two
months and average daily body measurements gain of Leu/Val genotypes were tend
to be higher than that of Leu/Leu genotypes.
