Motilitas dan viabilitas semen rusa timor (Cervus timorensis)menggunakan pengencer yang berbeda pada suhu 5 Derajat Celcius
Abstract: The aim of the
research was to reduce inbreeding in Rusa Deer (Cervus timorensis) in
population caused by increasing residence number and much narrower are. For
supporting this program, AI is one of problem solving through frozen semen
using alternative diluters (Andromed®and Egg Yolk Skim). This research used
ejaculate from 8 hard antler-Rusa Deer with of 4-8 years age. Semen was
collected by electroejaculator without aenesthation. Ejaculate was evaluated
both macroscopically and microscopically based on different diluters during
freezing process of semen (fresh, before freezing and post thawing). The result
indicated that fresh semen volume increased was 1,01+ 0,21ml, pH 6,95+0,09 with
colour of white milk-creamy, a medium-opaque consistencyand typical odor.
Microscopic observation showed that the mass motility were 2+-3+ and individual
motility was 80,6+5,63%. Sperm concentration was 4728,75+2386,66milion/ml with
viability percentage were 89,16+6,06% and abnormal sperm were 10,37+2,31%.
Individual motility andviability persentageon before freezing used Andromed®
and Egg Yolk Skim were59,38+4,17% and 26,88+7,53% and80,83+5,86% and
69,28+6,70%, respectively. The conclusion of this research was Andromed® was
effective to maintain motility andviability percentage on before freezing. Base
on this research, researcher suggests Andromed®effective to maintain freezing
process quality for future research.
