DAYA TAHAN PANAS SAPI BALI DI KABUPATEN MANOKWARI
ABSTRACT: The aim of this
research is to know heat tolerance of bali cattle at Manokwari. The research
was performed experimentally with nested design. There were two factors in this
research. The first factor was age group (adult, young and calf) and the second
factor was sex (male and female). Fifty Bali cattles used in this research 17
consist of adult cattle (9 males and 8 females), 18 young cattle (8 males and
10 females) and 15 calf (9 males and 6 females). Body themperature (from rectum
measurement) was measured at 06:00, 10:30 and 15:00, respectively, for 2 days
in acomecentive. The result showed that (a) before getting heat depression (at
06:00 o’clock) effect of sex in age on body temperature was significantly
(p<0.05) and more over females (adult) had higher body temperatur han those
at males (p<0.05). However, during getting heat depression whether sex nor
age did’not influence body temperature (p>0.05); (b) during getting heat
depression, higher body temperature was achieved from 06:00 until 10:30 than
those from 10:30 until 15:00, but the increasing body temperature was not
influenced whether by age nor by sex in age (p>0.05); (c) heat durability of
bali cattle at Manokwari was affected by sex in age (p<0.05), but not for
age (p>0.05). More analysis showed that males (adult) had better heat
tolerance (p<0.05) than those for females (adult).
