HERITABILITAS BEBERAPA UKURAN TUBUH AYAM KAMPUNG
ABSTRACT: Estimation of
heritability was done to know the genetic potency of some body measurement on
kampung chickens. High heritability for certain trait means that it has high
potency to be improved. Ninety seven of kampung chicken at 8 weeks old were
used in this research to estimate the heritability. Those chickens came from 19
pair of parents. The variance component for estimation of heritability was
found with one way variance analyzes method and the separation of variance
component for single pair mating. The estimation of heritability for shank
length, calf length, body length, chest width, thigh length, chest length,
chest circle, wings length, head length and head hiegth were 0,89±0,38;
0,52±0,29; 0,39±0,25; 0,37±0,25; 0,32±0,23; 0,25±0,20; 0,17±0,17; 0,02±0,07;
0,01±0,03, respectively.
