DAYA KECAMBAH BENIH TANJUNG (Mimusops elengi LINN.) PADA BERBAGAI KADAR AIR BENIH
Abstract: The objective of
this research was to find out the best of
Germination Capacity and Rate of Tanjung (Mimusops elengi LINN.) seeds
to the various water content of the seeds. To get the various water content,
the seeds was dried under the sunlight for 10 and 20 hours, and then the dried
seeds were measured its water contents.
This research was conducted in the Balai Perbenihan Tanaman Hutan (BPTH)
Kalimantan lab. Banjarbaru for 2 months and used 3 treatments: fresh seeds
(water content 40,62 %), dried for 10 hours (water content 26,32) and dried for
20 hours (water content 11,43%). with 50
seeds/ replications. The data was analyzed by comparing the parameter of
Germination capacity and Germination rate. The best response was shown by the
highest value of germination parameters. The results showed that seed was dried
in 10 hours (water content 26,32%) has best
value of Germination capacity = 95,5% and Germination rate 13,35 days
compared to the others.
