KETIKA KELUARGA MENGALAMI DISHARMONI: DI MANA POSISI PEREMPUAN? Analisis Wacana Kritis Rubrik Oh Mama Oh Papa Majalah Kartini
Abstract: This research
elaborates how women are represented or constructed in the media discourse. It
examined articles of true stories which is published on “Oh Mama, Oh Papa”
rubric of Kartini magazine using Norman Fairclough’s critical discourse
analysis. Through critical discourse analysis, it comes up with result that
although Kartini magazine focus on women as segment and the articles on that
rubric were written by women perspective but the emerging discourse re-enforce
the male dominant structure. The discourse reproduces the established order.
The clash of discourse between woman who pursuing career and those who stay in
domestic position are not enough to make any change. As result, the higher
income and career of women are regarded as a problem. Meanwhile, the husband’s
failure in career must be understood by wives.
