PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE STUDENT TEAMS ACHIEVEMENT DIVISIONS (STAD) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA KELAS VIII SMP MUHAMMADIYAH PASIR PENGARAIAN

ABSTRACT: This study aims to determine the effect of Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model towards the ability of the mathematical representation at eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Pengaraian. This research was a quasi-experimental research with the population were all students at grade VIII SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Pengaraian. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling technique that consist at of two classes, namely the experimental class and control class. In the experimental class, researcher applied cooperative learning model Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) while grade control class, researcher applied to conventional learning models. The instrument used was in the form of essay test. Hypothesis testing using the t test calculation results obtained thitung ≥ ttabel was  2,12 ≥ 2,042 for α = 0.025, so Ho was rejected. Therefore, there was the effect of student teams achievement divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model towards the ability of the mathematical representation VIII grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah Pasir Pengaraian the academic year 2015/2016.
