LEGALISASI GANJA DI COLORADO AMERIKA SERIKAT
Abstract: This research aims
at exploring the rationales used by the Government of Colorado, USA to legalize
the use of marijuana in 2012. Hence, this research utilizes explanatory
approach by applying descriptive-qualitative technique to analyse primary and
secondary data collected through intensive literature review. Collected data in
this research are displayed by considering the chronological sequence of the
enactment of regulations concerning to marijuana and by mapping out the
relation among the role of actors involved in the dynamics of the legalisation
of marijuana for consumption within social and political settings of Colorado,
USA. Findings show that the legalization of marijuana for consumption in
Colorado was a result emerged through a process of decriminalising marijuana,
especially since the international worlds classified it under the umbrella
terms of narcotics. Actors involved in this process of marijuana legalisation
are the Government of Colorado, MPP, SAFER, and Sensible Colorado. Each one of
them plays different yet interrelated and complementary roles.
