PERSEPSI MASYARAKAT KOTA PADANG TERHADAP MANTAN NARAPIDANA TIPIKOR SEBAGAI ANGGOTA LEGISLATIF
Abstract: Currently emerging
phenomenon of corruption of former inmates run for the legislature, This caused
controversy in the community. This study aims to determine the public
perception in the city of Padang on former inmates corruption as a potential
member of the legislature and the public to know the reasons for or against a
former convict corruption as legislative candidates . Issues raised in this
paper are: 1) How is the public perception of corruption as a former convict
legislative candidates 2) What are the reasons community support or reject the
ex-convict corruption as legislative candidates. This study uses
socio-juridical approach, the source of the data is the primary data and
secondary data. Data were collected through the study of documents and
questionnaires. The questionnaire distributed to 100 respondents representing
the people of the city of Padang. From the results of this study concluded that
1) Public perception of corruption that former inmates are the pros and cons of
where most people do not want to stay within the former inmates of their
corruption and there are some other people who do not mind the presence of
ex-convict corruption. 2) They refused to accept former inmates corruption to
run for the legislature, because people assume that ex-convict corruption that
is run for the legislature can not be a role model in the community. Society
receives ex-convict corruption to run for the legislature, as former political
prisoners also have the same rights with other communities.
