Abstract: Decency criminal
offense under Article 282 paragraph (1), (2), and (3) of the Criminal Code,
development of information technology affects the modus operandi of this
criminal act. When this happens the criminal act of decency by using SMS.
Perpetrators of criminal acts of decency are not limited to ordinary people,
there was also carried out by members of the police. Issues raised in this study
were 1) How is the implementation of criminal investigations decency through
Short Massage Service (SMS) by members of the Police in Champaign Police ?, 2)
What are the constraints faced by investigators in conducting criminal
investigations of decency that use Short Massage Service (SMS) by members of
the Police in Champaign Police ?. This study uses socio-juridical approach. The
data used include primary data and secondary data. Data were collected through
interviews and document study. The data is taken analyzed qualitatively. The
results showed; 1) implementation of criminal investigations decency starts
from making statements to the delivery docket to the public prosecutor. 2)
obstacles encountered in terms of calling witnesses, the investigator's ability
to bring in expert witnesses, as well as facilities and infrastructure
limitations in conducting the,investigation.
