PEMELIHARAAN LARVA BAWAL BINTANG (Trachinotus blochii) METODE INTENSIF
ABSTRACT: Silver pompano
(Trachinotus blochii), which is known as Bawal Bintang in local name, is one of
the importance economic fish that has good prospect to be cultured. The
experiment was conducted at intensive hatchery, Batam Mariculture Development Centre,
Riau islands, aimed to investigate the survival rate and growth (length) of
silver pompano. The result of the experiment showed that survival rate of
larvae was 19,74% and 20,1 mm in average length for 25 days rearing periods.
Water quality parameters in rearing tank were; temperature 29–30 °C; salinity
30–31 0/00; pH 7–8; dissolved oxygen 5,8–6,2 mg/L; NO2 0,0 mg/L; NO3 0,02–0,2
mg/L; NH3 0,1–0,2 mg/L; PO4 0,00 mg/L.
