STUDI KARAKTERISTIK DEKOMPOSISI TERMAL TEMPERATUR TINGGI BAN BEKAS UNTUK MENDAPATKAN BAHAN BAKAR GAS ALTERNATIF
ABSTRACT: This study aimed to
investigate the process of pyrolysis of scrap tires is no higher temperatures
to produce gas fuel alternatives. The study focused on the process of pyrolysis
of used tires in a fixed-bed reactor pad temperatures of 500 ° C - 700 ° C to
determine the optimum conditions that produce pyrolysis gas fraction maximum.
The study was also conducted to determine the effect of pyrolysis temperature
on the reaction time, the formation of liquid products (tar) and solid (char).
Product gas obtained from the pyrolysis process then dikarakerisasi for physical
and chemical analysis. Characterization of the pyrolysis product gas is waged
with mennggunakan Gas Chormatography / Mass Spectroscopy (GC / MS. The results
showed that the higher the temperature pyrolysis, the time needed to convert
used tires into liquid products, solid and gas is getting shorter with the
distribution of pyrolysis products fluctuates . The products of pyrolysis gas
showed a downward trend with increasing temperature pyrolysis, while the
composition of tar products is quite high. The optimum conditions for yielding
maximum gas product is achieved at a temperature of 600oC.
