MODIFIKASI SERAT TEKSTIL DENGAN NANOPORI TiO2-SiO2 SEBAGAI TEKSTIL SELF CLEANING
Abstract: Titanium Dioxide
(TiO2) is a
metal oxide semiconductor
which has many
advantages, so that commercially widely applied as a
catalyst. Improved performance photocatalyst can be done by adding a metal oxide SiO2
to extend the fotorespon of TiO2. Catalytic activity test performed on
cotton textile applications
as self-cleaning of
the methylene blue.
TiO2-SiO2 coating process requires a
binder compounds that
can interact with
the cotton surface
and TiO2-SiO2 powder. From the research there is a
correlation time interaction with acrylic acid binder to the amount of TiO2-SiO2 coated
on the surface
of cotton textiles.
Self-cleaning textiles product
obtained is characterized by
Fourrier Transform Infra Red (FT-IR) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Cotton textiles
coated with TiO2-SiO2
indicates ability to
degrade methylene blue
qualitatively under UV irradiation.
