APLIKASI ZEOLIT NaX YANG DISINTESIS DARI ABU TERBANG PLTU OMBILIN UNTUK PENYERAPAN GAS CO2

Abstract: Synthesis of zeolite from Ombilin coal fly ash through alkaline hydrothermal at 600C by using sea water  method  has  been  carried  out.  Fourier  Transform  Infra  Red (FT-IR)  and  Scanning  Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis that NaX zeolite obtained, but for X - Ray Diffraction (XRD) analysis was  produced  sodalite  (Na8(Al6Si6O24)Cl2),  a  host  molecule  for  the  simple  NaX  zeolite.  NaX zeolite  was  application  for  CO2  gases  adsorption  compared  with  nature  zeolite,  which  has molecular sieve 1,0 nm, and natural zeolite impregnating with  methyl diethanol amine (MDEA) and  piperazin  mixed. In  continue  adsorption  system  test,  result  NaX  zeolite  has  greatest adsorption  power  about  2,05  mmol  CO2/g  adsorbent.  Compared  to  nature  zeolite  (mordenite and  klinoptilolite  type),  molecular  sieve  1,0  nm  and  nature  zeolite  were  impregnated  with MDEA-piperazin  has  adsorption  power  0,1;  0,17  dan    0,48  mmol  CO2/g  adsorbent.  The differences of adsorption was affected by  base behavior, Si/Al ratio, surface area, pore volume, and pore diameter.
