PENGARUH PEMBERIAN KOMPRES AIR HANGAT TERHADAP DISMENORE REMAJA PUTRI PONDOK PESANTREN AT-TAUHID SIDORESMO DALEM SURABAYA

ABSTRACT: Warm water compresses as highly effective method to reduce pain or muscle spasms. The heat can be routed over conduction (hot water bottle). Heat can dilate blood vessels and increase blood flow. Warm water compresses are the methods used to relieve pain by using a jar  filled  with  hot  water  which  is  affixed  to  the  left  and  right  sides  of  the  abdomen.  Warm water  compresses  are  used  serves  to  dilate  blood  vessels,  stimulates  blood  circulation  and reduce stiffness (Price & Wilson, 2006).
This  study  design  is  a  pre-experimental  techniques  one  group  pre-post  test  design. Most  of  the  population  is  adolescent  girls  at  Islamic  Boarding  School  AT-TAUHID Sidoresmo  Dalem  Surabaya  in  accordance  with  the  inclusion  criteria  were  selected  with probability  sampling  technique  with  simple  random  sampling  technique  as  much  as  19 samples.
The  results  showed  that  of  the  19  adolescent  girls  before  the  warm  water  compress therapy suffered dysmenorrhea more than half of mild pain as much as 7 people (36.8%), 10 people (52.6%) suffered moderate pain, and 2 (10.5%) suffered severe pain. And after warm water  compresses,  research  shows  19  respondents,  16  respondents  (84.2%)  mild  pain,  3 respondents  (15.8%)  with  moderate  pain.  Results  showed  that  there  is  influence  of  warm water  compresses  on  dysmenorrhea  in  adolescent  girls.  Wilcoxon  Signed  Rank  test  showed the  influence  of  warm  water  compress  therapy  with  dysmenorrhea  in  adolescent  girls  p  = 0.001.
The  implications  of  this  study  was  therapeutic  warm  water  compresses  influence  on dysmenorrhea,  so  expect  nurses  and  adolescent  girls  can  improve  the  ability  to  cope  with dysmenorrhea warm water compress.
