UPAYA FA ( FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION ) DALAM MENGATASI TINDAK RASISME DI KOMPETISI SEPAKBOLA BARCLAYS PREMIER LEAGUE (BPL) INGGRIS
Abstract: Racism is a
philosophy who thought that one race is better than the other races. The basic
assumption of racism that character of person is determined by the biological
elements, considered by this assumption, than the people from the superior race
must be separated from the people whose born from inferior race. Racism case
origin beginning in England since the arrival of immigrants from the Caribbean
and Africa between 1950 – 1960, and in 1970s who came from Asia. Racism that
occurs in the social environment spread into the sports field, and most sports
are colored by racism issues is football. Perpetrators of racism not only
involve club supporters, football players also become perpetrators in the act
of racism. While the sentiment factor, rivalry, emotional, psychological,
resentment and fatigue are considered as the trigger of racism act. In the
current era of globalization, racism happens in football and develop into a
very big problem and need a special handling, it is deemed necessary due
because the globalization of Africa, Asia, America and Europe football players
whose join in the various clubs England football competition are countless. As
the highest authority of English football, the FA tried to tackle racism in
English football by improving the rules of the game, In the guide book and the
competition rules of the game are collated by the FA, it’s mentioned that the
participants of the competition is prohibited from discrimination in any form.
The FA confirmed that there is no tolerance for perpetrators of racism from
anyone involved in English football competition. In other efforts to address
the case of racism, the FA is working with the Kick It Out. From the result of
cooperation between the FA and Kick It Out, 10 Actions Plan program is one of the
FA's efforts to overcome racism in English football.
