ISU ARMENIAN GENOCIDE DALAM HUBUNGAN TURKI-PERANCIS TAHUN 2012

Abstract: Armenian genocide issue raised by the Sarkozy government in December 2011, making bilateral Turkish-French relations become less harmonious because Sarkozy government's inclusion in the bill, known as the Armenian genocide bill. This bill establishes those who deny the events during the Ottoman Empire as genocide is considered a crime could be fined almost 45 thousand euros and a prison sentence of up to one year. Turkish government refused accused of genocide, because it is the same as accusing Turkey as a criminal state. the reason the government of President Sarkozy raised the issue of Armenian genocide is to garner votes of Armenian ethnic minority has a strong influence in France to choose Sarkozy in order to became a President for the second time. And the impact of the issue of the Armenian Genocide, Turkish-French diplomatic relations were deteriorating relationship both with the withdrawal of the Turkish ambassador in France, freezing military cooperation, economic and political.
