UPAYA AUSTRALIAN MARRIAGE EQUALITY DALAM PERUBAHAN KEBIJAKAN SAME SEX MARRIAGE DI AUSTRALIA
Abstract: This study aims to
explain and describe forms of Australian
Marriage Equality efforts in the process of policy change same sex marriage
early to determine what changes occurred after the emergence of the Australian Marriage
Equality organization in Australia. Australian Marriage Equality community
based organization dedicated to removing those discriminatory provisions of the
Australian Marriage Act 1961 which prevent same sex marriagepartners entering
legal marriages and which also prohibit the recognition of overseas same sex
marriages. Same sex marriage has been on the political agenda in Australia for
several years, as part of the broader debate about the legal recognition of
same sex relationships. In a legal sense, marriage equality or same sex
marriage refers to the removal of legislative provisions which prevent same sex
partners from entering into civil marriages in Australia. More broadly,
marriage equality is about treating marriage like relationships with equal
respect and dignity, regardless of the gender of the partners involved.
AME’s work includes lobbying of decision makers, public advocacy and
community education. AME has been a front liner movement struggles Australian
LGBT groups to continue demand policy change marriage act 1961. By conducting
such actions held a special event to look for masses, collected global support
of leading figures, and issued The Roadmap to Reform that contains the
conclusion of the effort made by AME. AME’s funding comes from community fund
raising and the effort paid off with a number of change, including the
recognition of Australia as the first country to recognize the existence of
LGBT people in Australia
