PERAN UNITED NATIONS PROGRAMME ON HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) DALAM MENANGGULANGI PENYEBARAN HIV/AIDS DI NIGERIA (2005-2009)
Abstract: This research
overcome described the United Nations Programme On HIV/AIDS’s (UNAIDS) Role in
Combating the Spread of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria. Using descriptive analysis, which
described the UNAIDS roles in providing assistance. The data secondary
presented that obtained through literature review, books, internet and others.
Analysis technique is qualitative analysis technique. The result showed that
the role of UNAIDS in tackling the spread of HIV/AIDS in Nigeria is UNAIDS as
container for the whole community to consult, obtain are and treatment. UNAIDS
as a means of supporting the technical and strategic information in an effort
to fight HIV/AIDS in the sector of health, education and information. And
UNAIDS as institutions that regulate the role of the state in carrying out
efforts to tackle the spread of HIV/AIDS. In tackling the spread of HIV/AIDS in
Nigeria, UNAIDS made several efforts namely, media campaigns and public
awareness, prevention of mother-to-child transmission and treatment and
HIV/AIDS treatment.
