PERAN GREENPEACE DALAM MENANGGULANGI MASALAH KERUSAKAN HUTAN ALAM DAN GAMBUT DI RIAU, SUMATRA (STUDIKASUS PT. RIAU ANDALAN PULP AND PAPER)
ABSTRACT: This research
aims to describe
and explain the
role of Greenpeace
in tackling the problem of
deterioration of natural forest and peat in Riau, Sumatra (Case Study : PT.
Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper). This type of research is descriptive analytic with
exposing the problem
and then will
be analyzed systematically using the framework of
thought. The data used in the writing of the secondary data is derived from
books, journals, newspapers, the internet, as well as mass media-related research.
The research results showed that
Greenpeace's role in
tackling the problem
of the destruction of
forests through the
4 indicators, namely,
advocacy, monitoring, consultation and facilitation, were successfully,
but it also requiredthe support of
the Government of
Indonesia to give
heavy sanctions against lawbreaker, to
company that have
been destroying forest
which have been protected by law.
