KEBERADAAN CHINA DALAM PENYELESAIAN KONFLIK SUDAN – SUDAN SELATAN
Abstract: This research aims
to explain how the existence of China in resolving the conflict between Sudan
and South Sudan. Type of research is uses analysis descriptive, which describes
the problems that occurred in Sudan and South Sudan as well as the existence of
China between the two countries in conflict based on existing facts and then
draw a conclusion. The data presented is secondary data obtained directly from
the review of literature studies such as books, journals, articles and online
news such as BBC News. The data analysis technique used is qualitative analysis
techniques, namely data obtained systematically arranged for further analysis
based on the quality of the data.
The results showed that the existence of China in resolving the conflict
between Sudan and South Sudan that is present as an impartial and neutral
party. China's existence in Sudan's conflict between the two countries was
based because of China's oil interests in Sudan and South Sudan. Good relations
between China and Sudan into two countries concerns the reason China supports
the peace between the two countries. China needs oil from the two countries in
conflict, however, China's energy interests in Sudan are not significant.
Conflicts that occur due to the seizure of the oil-rich region has reached an
agreement that leads to peace. Although China is not entirely due to a
mediating role in the conflict resolution is the African Union, but the
existence of China which has good relations with both countries Sudan is also
influential in reaching a peace agreement.
