The English Achievements Of The Students With Different Reading Activities
ABSTRACT: The activity
of communicating and
delivering information both
oral and written
are important to
use English effectively. To
convey the idea, concept, or mind through oral and written skills,we have to be fully concentrated to produce all of
the knowledge that we have in our mind.
The activity of reading is one of the most effective ways to develop the need
of concepts and knowledge. This article
is a research report that the purpose is to find out if there is a significant
different between the English achievements of the students with different
reading activities. This is a quantitative ex-post facto research. The
population is the whole fourth semester students of EED, TTEF UMK in the Academic
Year 2011/2012. This research involved four students to help and guide them in
writing their skripsi. The four students
investigated the different
four English language
achievements: Listening, Speaking,
Reading, and Writing. The result
shows thaton the
level of significance
of αΎ³ =
0.05 and degree
of freedom (df)
of 59, the
research hypotheses are confirmed
that there are
significant differencesin the
English achievements (Listening,
Speaking, Reading, and Writing) of the fourth semester students of
English Education Department of Muria Kudus University in academic year
2011/2012with different reading activities.
And the students with high reading activity are better than the students
with low reading activity in the English achievements.
