SPEAKING SKILL IMPROVEMENT MELALUI ROLE-PLAYING PADA KOMPETENSI ENGLISH FOR INSTRUCTION DI PGSD
Abstract: The aim of this
study is to increase students' achievement of speaking skill in the competence
of English for Instruction by implementing Role Playing method in English
classroom of PGSD. The problem is related to the students' achievement of
speaking skill. This study can be classified into a classroom action research.
The finding shows that Role Playing in ESTD is able to improve students'
achievement of speaking skill. There is a significant increasing achievement of
speaking skill reached by the students. The result of speaking test of cycle 1
shows that there are seven students who got score under the interval of 3,00
and the average score is 70,58. It is still under the score of 75 where 75 is
the rninimum standard score, but it is better than the score of pre-test. The
cycle 2 shows that there is increasing scores, in which there is no student who
get under the interval of 2,50-3,00 and the average score is 76,96. It means
that the students' achievement of speaking skill increase 6,677% although there
is no students who get score in the maximum interval of 4,50-5,00.
