MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN OPERASI HITUNG PADA PECAHAN DENGAN ANIMASI PROGRAM POWER POINT
Abstract: This research aims
to increase the understanding of the operation concept on fractions by
demonstration using animation with power point program.
This research is a classroom action research with students in S.6B class
year 2006 Elementary School Teacher Education. The class has 41 students.
Research data emerged as score of the understanding of the operation on
fractions were collected by test. Pretest held before circle 1 and post-test
are conducted at the end of circle. Qualitative data are collected by
observation. Observation data and score test are used as reflection matter for
establishing the next circle. Research data were analyzed by descriptive
analysis technique that was computed the minimum, the maximum, the mean score,
and the standard deviation.
The result of the research shows that the animation by power point
program can increase the understanding of the operation concept on fractions.
That was shown by the mean score. The mean score of pre-test was 9.8 (23.33%),
of the post-test at circle 1 was 18.94 and of the post-test at circle 2 was
28.64 (68.19%). The operation on fractions consists of addition, subtraction,
multiplication and division. The observation showed that the use of animation
by power point program can increase the students attention, seriousness and
enthusiasm in learning.
