APLIKASI COPING TOUGHT UNTUK MENGELOLA PEMIKIRAN NEGATIF

Abstract: Every individual has automatic thought which can lead to negative thoughts. Automatic  thought  presented  itself,  so  it  needs  to  be  managed  properly  so  that individuals do not get caught up in thinking that can hinder counterfeiting life. The  purpose  of  this  study  was  to  determine  the  effectiveness  of  coping thought  to  manage  negative  thoughts.  Coping  thought  reshapes  the  cognitive patterns,  assumptions,  beliefs  and  judgments  are  irrational,  destructive  and  self-defeating. Therapist/counselor helped to change the cognitive distortions with re-conviction  testing  counselee  with  a  variety  of  verbal  persuasion  techniques  and model hypotheses.
The  design  used  in  this  study  was  one  group  pre-test  and  post-test  design. Subjects  were  students  who  had  high  negative  thoughts,  amounting  to  6  people. The  measurement  results  show  that  the  post-test  scores  are  lower  than  pre-test scores.  It  describes  a  decrease  in  score  of  negative  thoughts.  In  addition,  the results of Wilcoxon signed rank test analysis showed that the probability test (ρ) is  smaller  than  α,  so  the  Ho  is  rejected,  its  meaning  that  there  are  significant differences in the counselee before and after treatment. This indicates that coping thought effective to manage negative thoughts.
