UJI BAKTERI ESCHERICHIA COLI YANG RESISTAN TERHADAP ANTIBIOTIK PADA IKAN KAPAS-KAPAS DI SUNGAI BATANG ARAU PADANG
Abstract: A study in
antibiotic resistance Escherichia coli from kapas-kapas fish in Batang Arau
River has been achieved. This work is to determine the presence of pathogenic
bacteria (such as E.coli) by Most Probable Number (MPN) method and bacteria
resistant against antibiotics as well. From the qualitative test there were
positive coliform and fecal coliform bacteria. It was obtained that there are
333 combination which ≥ 2400/100 mL, and 332 about 1100/100 mL, respectively
based on MPN method according to Mc Crady. The result of isolation showed that
there are five cultures E.coli found by the biochemical test. It was shown that
methyl red and lactose posses positive E. coli, while citrate was negative. The
antibiotics halozone showed Meropenem which indicates highest sensitivity to
E.coli. All of antibiotics pattern were resistance and intermediate (30%) and
susceptible (40%). The amplification result indicates Escherichia coli O157: H7
was not found by using stx1 gene.
