SINTESIS DAN KARAKTERISASI TiO2-SiO2 DENGAN PENAMBAHAN KITOSAN DAN SURFAKTAN DTAB
Abstract: TiO2-SiO2/Chitosan
is a compound that can be applied as catalyst in organic reaction. The catalytic activity of TiO2-SiO2 is
influenced by for example its morphology beside other factors. In this work, the
synthesis of the composite was carried out by sol-gel method modified by the
addition of chitosan and dodecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (DTAB). The
characterization showed that the morphology of TiO2-SiO2 and TiO2-SiO2/Chitosan
are different with the addition of DTAB 10%. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) pattern
showed the crystalline of TiO2 anatase is effected by the presence of
surfactant DTAB and chitosan. The thermal stability and crystal pattern of TiO2
is influenced by the presence of SiO2 which the anatase structure can be
resisted at 550oC. The spectrum of Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) showed
different intensity in the range 4000-400 cm-1. There are interaction of
Ti-O-Si around 900 cm-1, O-Ti-O around 400 cm-1, and Si-O-Si around 1100 cm-1.
Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis showed the homogeninity
distribution of particle with porous morphology.
