PENERAPAN MODEL COOPERATIVE LEARNING TIPE CIRC UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN SISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL CERITA MATERI HIMPUNAN KELAS VII SMP NEGERI 13 MALANG

Abstract:  The  purpose  of  this  classroom  action  research  is  to  describe  the implementation  CIRC  type  of  cooperative  learning  to  enhance  the  seventh graders’ ability on solving the mathematical word problem in sets topic at SMPN 13 Malang.  Data is taken by test, observation and documentation.  The result of research  about  the  learning  process  CIRC  type  of  cooperative  learning  to enhance  students’  ability  on  solving  the  mathematical  word  problems,  namelythe  students  were  divided  into  small  group  heterogeneously.  After  that  the teacher  distributed  the  word  problems  in  the  form  of  worksheet.  Then,  the students were  discuss to read  the problem,  explain the subject of problem, make the planning of solutions,  write the solution, and check the result of solution that according to problem. The teacher then asked the representative of each group to present  the  result  of  the  discussion.  Finally,  the  teacher  and  the  students evaluated and concluded the word problems. In the end of the presentation, the teacher gave a test to the students in order to know their ability on solving the word problems.
