ANALISIS WARNA, BAU,pH, Fe, Zn DAN N-ORGANIK PADA KOMPOS YANG DIBUAT DARI TANDAN KELAPA SAWIT DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN AKTIVATOR LUMPUR AKTIF PT. BUMI SARIMAS INDONESIA (Cocomas)
Abstract: The study was
conducted to analyze the color, odor, pH, Fe, Zn, and organic nitrogen in
compost made of palm bunches by using activated sludge activator obtained from
PT. Bumi Sarimas Indonesia (Cocomas). Compost is prepared by varying the weight
ratio of activated sludge Cocomas activators and palm bunches that are 1:1,
1:2, 1:3, 1:4 and 1:5. Analysis of Iron (Fe) and Zinc (Zn) content in the palm
bunches compost produced is carried out by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer
(SSA) where the rate of Fe and Zn found to be 0,07% and 0,16%. The largest Fe
rate was resulted from 1:5 ratio (0,61%). For the rate of Zn found in bunches
of oil palm and activator Cocomas were 0.007 % and 0.05 % with the largest rate
of Zn on the fifth comparison was done is at 1:5 ratio (0,02%). For the
determination of N-organic level using the Kjedahl method, in which the levels
N-organic in palm bunches and activator of activated sludge of Cocomas was
0,54% and 0,33%. The largest rate of N-organic is at the ratio of 1:1 (2,52%). For
analysis of pH was measured using a pH meter, while for the color and odor
analysis studied visually. From the analysis of color, odor, pH in 1:5 ratio,
Fe and Zn content in compliance with ISO standards, while for pH only on the
ratio of 1:4 which meets ISO standards and for the analysis of N-organic beyond
ISO standards.
